Sommer woke up at 10 am, thinking she could get out of hiking today. Not so! We headed up Aiea Heights and hiked the Aiea Loop trail, a relatively easy 4.5 mile loop in the hills above Aiea.
There was a new landslide as a result of the recent wet weather we've been having. We noticed a lot more fallen trees this time around. (More pics here)
Sommer hiking along with her water bottle.
About middle way through the loop you are rewarded with some great views of Halawa Valley and the H3 freeway.
Here's a shot of Aiea Ridge, the next trail Kai and I are planning on doing next week.
In this picture you can see the Halawa Trail zig-zaggin it's way up to the Koolau summit ridge.
It was such a beautiful day today. Clear skies, no rain!
