Diamond Head
Woke up early Saturday and headed up Diamond Head. We had done this "hike" last year and struggled up the short trail to the top of the iconic peak above Waikiki. We wanted to gauge how far we had come since that time.
We had prepared like any other hike, making cold water for Sommer's camelbak (a new one that she got recently) and prepping energy bars like we were going to be in the mountains for a few hours.
After making our way up the path, we came to the first stairs. We were surprised at how easy this hike had become. Last time we were dying by the time we got to the stairs.
After the stairs, a long dark scary tunnel.
Then more stairs. Last time we thought we weren't going to make it...well, at least I didn't think I was going to make it. But this time...a breeze!
Within minutes we were at the top!
A beautiful view from the top of Waikiki.
After a few minutes at the top we made our way back.
The State is doing some renovations on the trail.
All in all it took about an hour to get up and down. A great start to a Saturday morning.

It is a difficult hike becauase of the stairs. But the view from above is so pretty. You're working hard aren't you?
